John Jeremiah Sullivan (born 1974) is an American writer, editor, and teacher based in Wilmington, North Carolina. A contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, contributing editor of Harper's Magazine, and southern editor of The Paris Review, Sullivan is one of the most distinctive voices in American literary journalism. He edited The Best American Essays, a collection in which his own work has been featured in previous years.
